Another Defense Verdict

Jeff Humphries and J.D. Morgan received a defense verdict for their clients in Circuit Court in Clay County, Florida, on March 13, 2013. The plaintiff, claiming assault, battery, and automobile negligence following an alleged road rage incident, asked the jury for over 2 million dollars, clearly aiming for a substantial pain and suffering award. We received a directed verdict in our clients’ favor as to the assault claim. The jury awarded no damages for the battery claim. As to the negligence claim, the jury found the plaintiff 42% comparatively negligent, awarding only minimal pain and suffering damages. After set-offs, the net verdict is approximately $30,000.
